i honestly would go with the 5.3. its a newer car. ppl are doing cam and intake swaps and headers and what not for it. the one guy on my forum ran an 11.48 with that turbo kit. heres a link.

i think that it would make more sense to buy a v8 monte turbo it and call it a day.

If you check out my 2001 MC SS (DREDD) that I just finished the 01 3800 to 06 LS4 upgrade/swap and the power that I get is crazy . The whole front end leaps up and My MC is propelled at unbelievable torque. Noone thought it could be done but I did it .

If this was a question of should I get a 2005 Monte Carlo SS or a 2006 Monte Carlo SS, I would vote for the 2005 with the L67.

Since you are debating on swapping an LS to the L67 and comparing it, I would vote for the newer SS with the LS4.

i think even if it were a question of buying a l67 or a ls4 car i would still go ls4. newer car, newer body, possibly some warranty left, not to mention all the LS mods that are being done. if you bought a l67 car your going to have to mod it to be where you would start with a ls4. granted the mods are cheaper and more well known with the 3800 but id rather go with the ls4.
