the rwd caprices are going to police duty first.

and amy is this the chevelle concept that you were talking about seeing? these topics have been debated on my other forum where i saw both these cars.

personally i highly doubt the return of either car. if they were going to put out the monte again they would have to put that camaro on a diet, and build the monte on that frame. also was never a big fan of the chevelle. i like 67,68, and 73, but other than that i wasnt into it. if anything i think that they should put out a buick skylark gs and ditch that silly regal. just my thoughts on it.

1. The Caprice is coming only for the police not as an Impala and based on a longer wheel base (Perhaps the Holden Statesmen), it was stated the next Impala will take some retro ques with round lights again, but will remain FWD.

2.) That Chevelle is a "One Off" based on a GTO not a GM Production Concept.

3.):

4) Next Camaro will be based off of the Alpha Platform and not the Zeta and as such will be going on a diet.

My guess is building a fwd is more cost effective for the mfrs. But labor intensive and expensive to repair and less durable. The whole drive line can be lifted to the engine bay. RWD has many more components to assemble. Easier to service unless it is 6 inches off the ground .RWD has been around for over 100 years. There is a ton of salvage and after market companies to support the RWD market. Except for my 01 SS I will always have a RWD. Monte Carlo forever!!!!

Ok. I've heard these rumors for yrs now. I've been on a Chevelle site for 6 yrs. Dyna Corn put out a model of the Chevelle also. I've seen pictures like the one Joe posted before. You should hear the puriest on the Chevelle site Knock it. " IF " They come out with a Chevelle. PLEASE don't make it look like every other car out there. And don't make it a 4 dr Grandpa car!! I would also love to see another M/C come out. But I don't see it happening. And again. If they do!!! Don't make it a grandpa car. Or 4 dr. Then it would be the death of it for sure

Reminds me of Chrysler. I'm still not 100% happy about the "Charger" name on a 4 door, even if it has a "hemi" and RWD.

KJRICH: Last fall I took a new Challenger for a ride. I was impressed with it. Bigger then the Camaro inside & out. Trunk also. That HEMI pulled & Pulled. I asked the salesman about the Charger. I had a 74 SE. He said there was talk about a retro Dodge Charger coming out to replace the Challenger. He said he was at a Meeting with other Dodge people and that rumor was going around the board room. So lets keep our fingers crossed. I was a Mopar fan for 14 yrs.

Sounds great, Rick! I used to be into the Mopar muscle cars myself. At one point I had a triple black '73 Charger SE. It was a factory 400 4 barrel with the slapstik automatic shifter. Should have kept it, but I'm sure you know how that story goes. I've also run a lot of GM fwd products as daily drivers, but never an old school hotrod.
It'll be a while til I can afford a used new Challenger. lol
