if you actually think about it when gm discontinued the comaro and the fire bird for a while. people slowed way down coming to the dealers it was those two cars that braught people in. if you think about it the monte the comaro the fire bird is and always be the every day guys fantacy and daily driver it is what people like and can afford to get. also when people came in for those three they see all the other vehicles as well.

A Chevelle would make sense on one hand. Because of the whole retro muscle car phase we're seeing right now. But on the other hand, with GM's scaling back of their line-up to be a more profittable company, I have a hard time believing GM would want to put out a direct competitor to the Camaro.
That would have three muscle cars with the Chevy bowtie on it. The Corvette, which admittedly is aimed at a more upscale buyer. But it seems to me the Camaro and the Chevelle would be competing for the same buyers.
Add the Mustang and Challenger into the mix, and you have a lot of cars trying to survive in a market that can't support a lot of muscle cars.
I could see it working out better if it was a new retro-styled Pontiac GTO. But that's obviously never going to happen now.

The Chevelle name I hear would be a rebadged G8, which would make sense....Big 4 door FWD car (Impala) Mid sized FWD Car (Malibu) And a Big RWD Car Chevlle/G8 nothing to compete with the Camaro

Joe, the Impala already has a RWD. Which would put the Chevelle in competition with the Impala instead of the Camaro.
No matter what you make the Chevelle look like, GM already has one in that classification.

Thanks everyone for your words/posts/feelings on the subject....Maybe we should start a petition to GM
They could use the Caddy Coupe Platform with the 3.6L & also for high performance the ZR`1 Engine on a updated 1st Gen or 4th Gen Monte with updated electronic's etc ......
