2007 Monte Carlo
Hey guys just got added to the forum a few minutes ago. I love everything that I have read so far a couple hours worth. So I used to own a 1996 Z34, which I absolutely loved, but after 176,00+ and an accident I had to get rid of it. I did almost cry. So I got a car real quick cause I was driving back and forth to college and got a super deal 4,500 for an 02 Intrepid 65,000miles. Now it is a couple of years later and about to graduate from college and want another Monte to help revive some of my youth. I am looking for a 2007 and was hoping you guys with more insight on the later generation MC's could give me some advice. Found some GM certified with like 30,000 and a sunroof which living right next to South Padre Island is a definite plus only like two days out of the year I couldn't use it; and it was only 12,995. So was hoping could get some good advice. And if you need tutoring in History or Political Science I can return the favor.
Peace,love, and chicken grease.

Welcome George!
One of our moderators (Mickey) is just north of you in San Antonio.
Political Science. Sounds like you andsome of the others heremay have some interesting conversations. Just try to keep them civilized.
We have a number of members here with 2007 & 2006 Monte Carlos. Both years are identical to each other. The 2000-2005 models use the same unibody, but differ in a lot of ways. The '06 & '07 models are more updated. Different choice in engines too. Most members here with '06 & '07 models saythey love their car, and are glad they bought it. If you're more concerned with power, go for an SS with the V8. But if you're more concerned about fuel economy, go with the V6. Either way, I think you'll enjoy the Monte Carlo.
I should say, if you're used to driving smaller, sportycars like Honda for example, you may not like the Monte. The Monte is a larger car, and won'tgive you the same response the smaller tuner cars give. But as a luxury sport car, it really holds it's own. If you're used to driving your Intrepid, I think you'll like an '07 Monte Carlo.

If you're wiling to buy a slightly used car, then go for the 3.9. it's the best of bost worlds... 242 hp and V6 fuel mileage... the V8 doesn't get what it claims, you better love your local gas station if you get one of those.

RE: 2007 Monte Carlo
Thanks guys really appreciate it. Yeah the fuel economy will help driving about 70 miles a day to school and home so it def will help. I have the 2.7 in my intrepid but was definitely used to the 3.4 in my z34 which i loved. I found an 07 LT with a sunroof and only 29,000 for under 13 and it was a GM certified, so i still have like 4.5 years and 70,000 on the warranty. Wat do you guys think? If i get it gonna need some help on places to get parts it's been like three years since i was into customizing my MC which i want to do with this one just some mild mods nothing major. Sound system, gonna leave the stock radio in, CAI, and maybe some wheels and exterior mods.
