Default 2000-recent owners would you like...?

Hey all, question for you. While tooling around with some stuff we sell at the bike shop where I work, I happened to find out that the 3 bolts on each cross-brace strut (the ones you have to remove to work on the battery or intake) can be easily covered by a chromepart we sell. Now of course you can go buy em for like 2 $ each (plus S&H), but I was thinking if I got enough ppl together (Like, say 7 or 8) I can buy a package of 50 (at an employee discount), split em up amongst us and share the cost (plus regular postal shipping). Good thing about them is that they're covered against loss, or peeling. So if one happens to fall off your car or the plastichrome goes bad (it looks like real electro-plated chrome, with almost 0 chance of peeling, rusting, flaking, etc) it's replaced for free. I'm working on the other bolts in the car, but this company mainly sells allen bolt covers, and don't have a lot of hex head covers yet. Actually the hex that fits is way too tight to remove without some difficulty, but this allen one is snug enough that I had one on my car for probably 6 weeks already and it never loosened or got lost. I was just looking around, noticed I hadn't seen anyone with covers like these. so figgured I'd ask.

Any takers?

Ask, and ye shall recieve... Please note, I actually only have one, and I haven't tried the upper (closest to the hood hinge) bolt yet, it seems to be a bit taller? I'll be checking on that to make sure this will cover all 6, and get back to you with a picture of all of em covered. I've been trying different ones, to see what other bolts I can get covers for, but so far my selection is limited. so I need to get with the manufacturer to get samples of all he makes. Eventually my goal is to cover nearly all the bolts if possible.

Please ignore the grainy pic and dirty engine compartment. It was late when I took this, and I didn't want to sit out in 55 degree just to make the pics pretty, lmao.

Just what I thought you were talking about. I'm in for 8-10 of them.

Excellent. I shall orderthem tomorrow... Gonna play around with the other sizes they sell to see if any other covers will work in the engine compartment.

Default Good news!

Ok, I seriously took 10 minutes during lunch today and got what I could figgured out.

The covers fit all 6 bolts perfectly, and *bonus* I found out it happens to cover the center bolt on the 3.9L engine's intake as well.(see pic)
But let me test that out first, that booger gets hot... ( that's hawt....) so let me leave mine on for a few extended trips before I reccomend it to anyone.

Second, while trying out some other sizes, I found that a different size (specifically for hex bolts) will cover the two bolts for what I can only assume is another fuse/relay housing. (again, see pics)

Ok, probably going to have to post more than once for all the pics, lemme see how many pics will fit on one post. First pic on this post is the engine cover.... second should be the lower two bolts on the support bar.

Ok, and for the top bolt on the support strut, and the two bolts on that fuse/relay box. Unfortunately the hex covers are a bit more pricey, and these probably won't be as popular (no bulk discount) so they'll be more like 5$ for the pair. The others, being all the same, and since I can order them in a larger amount, are only about 1.40 a piece. If anyone wants Skulls or black, they are also available, but will be more expensive. (again no bulk discounts)

Sooo.... No takers other than GPD?

Ok, well GPD if you want a 10 pack of the Strut bolts ( you'll use 3 for each struts, plus one on the exposed intake manifold bolt, so you'll need 7 and have 3 for other stuff/spare)it'll be like13.50 for that package, then it's 5$ for the pair of the bolts for those two for the fuze box bracket thing on the passenger side suspension housing. (if'n u want'em) Shouldn't be any more than 20$ shipped (i've spent over 40$ just finding the right ones, and testing other sizes, they're worth it IMHO)

PM me w/how you want to arrange it...

If there's other takers we might get a little more off that price... so if anyone else wants em, speak now or forever hold your peace.... (haha)
