I am researching the various Pace. Cars and replicas of the Indy 500 and trying to establish a registry of all the VINs of all the various cars. I am now working on the 2000 Monte Carlo used for the 1999 race. Unlike other years it does not appear there were a small fleet of these cars at the track for either the Indy 500 or Brickyard 400. Though it seems to be a daunting task, many of the various years are complete. I have limited access to a NHTSA database and can access build info as well but no history or buyer info. I have about 1000 VINs and build info out of the 2222 produced. There are 162000 VINs from lowest to highest I have thus far, so it is taking way too much time searching the records. (Some years are real easy as they are consecutive VINs!). It is also almost impossible to determine the number of each vehicle. So I could use help-I just need the last 6 digits of the VINs of just the 2000 Pace Car editions, and especially if known the car number. When complete I will share the info. Here is an example:
