Default 2000 ls1

I was just at the Utica MI car show and talked to the owner of this car. It is what they call a mule car. If I am not mistaken it was what GM put together in 2000 an earlier predecessor to the LS4 that came out in '06. This LS1 has about 350 HP at the crank. At the time GM need to know if in fact the side ways V8 could work and fit in the Monte. The back of the block was cut and weld and machined to accept the 4T65E that was behind the 3800. I am not entirely sure but I think the car itself (the sheet metal) is not original to the powertrain, electronics and interior.

That thing is soo nice, but a bit pricey for a custom build like that, wonder if it comes with a warranty? Probably not.

I'm really confused by the huge air intake in the back window. Looks like 4"+ ducting going into the trunk, but for what?

It's done waaay to nice to be a mule car done by chevy. Looks like a project that got outta hand by the owner, I see a vette and chevelle in one of the pics , so the owner probly got some cash. I think if it was an actual GM mule car the owner would have stated that, plus the fact that most experimental cars done by manufacturers are never sold or seen. Just my opinion.

If you read the description he tells you that he took the shell of the car so every other part like the doors and hood obviously are all aftermarket or oem replacements, as for the vents and tubes in the back windows my guess is that it is connected to the brakes in the back to keep them cool

The guy had it up originally about a week ago and the current bid was 2750.00 but I guess he had a reserve so he reposted it for the price he wants which is ridiculous, the shell of the car was still from a water damaged vehicle
