ok so i was browsing cl just now and i saw this.
1996 Monte carlo ss ive never heard of a 96 ss monte. are they rare? is it a steal for only 1800?

Idk what the story on these things are tbh. I've seen 3 5th gen SS'es...one I was going to buy but didn't have the money. & then I saw one today. I've never heard of them actually being a true model but what are the chances of there being several that looks exactly the same but diff colors ya know. Can you post the cl link so I can see it

I think it's a Duraflex body kit on it

ive seen a 5th gen with that body kit but i dont think it was an ss. i like the kit but i dont really like the side skirts. they look a little strange lol

Hm that's different then all of the others I've seen. All the SS ones I see look like my cousins but in diff colors. I don't like the side skirts either but it looks alright on a black one apparently (which is the one I saw today) bcuz it helps blend it all together. My fav part about that body kit is the fog light option

Actually there is once difference that I've seen on my cousins that is diff from all the other ones I saw & that's the SS...the SS on the other ones were a bit funky but they were in the same spot

yeah i like the fog lights too. i think there is a member on here that has a 5th gen ss. either it was his or his dads. they were talking about it being a a dealer option or something.

I think its a mod where people put ss stickers on their car and claim it as an SS.

I do belive the SS was a dealer option if i remember right, it's basicly a z34 with body kit an ss sticker
