1976 Monte Carlo

Hello. I have a quick question. My uncle is selling a 76 Monte Carlo. Its been sitting in his garage for 10plus years. Really nice shape, buckets console, blue in colour. What are they worth? He wanted 10,000$ for it, thought it was high but thought I would ask people who knew about them before offering. Any help appreciated.

Best piece of advice I can give is to review this thread:

How well does your uncle like you?

$10K is not unheard of for gen. 2 Monte's, but they need to be in showroom condition with low miles. I haven't seen the car, but you did say it's been sitting for 10+ years. First, I have to wonder why it's been sitting. Some things deteriorate with lack of use and age that would need to be replaced, things like fluids including gas, a full tune up, all rubber engine parts like belts and hoses, and some gaskets might start leaking as they tend to dry up in storage. Unless the car was stored on jacks it probably needs new shocks.

Here's a low miles '76 Landau for comparison: https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/...231291370.html

Actually after looking at the picture closely, the car in the add is really a '77. The '76 didn't have hood ornament, and most '76's have leather seats.
