Default 1 week old, still grinnin

I've had my Monte a whole dang week now, and still impressed. Maybe its because I'm used to the 'ole Suburban, but I think its mainly because I researched the car, compared it to other like models, and actually bought what I set out to buy. Also, by finding this site, I have been able to get all the "new used car gremlins" sorted out. So I owe thanks to everyone that replied to my questions, and who replied to my questions that other people already asked. SO:
THANKS.
Now, I've read about different series of engines- ie L series. How can I find out what series I have? (2003 SS) I'm assuming its simply a matter of year?
Last, just curious. How many miles have you put on your Monte?

04 Monte Bought Used. 72,000 Runs like it brand new. Hope to be driving this car past 100,000 Miles!
I'll be doing fairly regular Oil and Filters with Mobil-1

And, ... now that I am an "Old Hand" at Air Filters and Spark Plugs ... they'll be changed-out pretty regularly; too!

Dude, when you love your car, the grins don't stop. Seriously, I've had mine coming close to a year, and I tell you every time I look at it I just grin... I can't help it, the joy it brings me to drop the hammer... and by the time it is a third of the way down the exhaust is speaking up, the radio is fading into the background and so is my last known location.....

God, I love that!

Oh, and I"ve put on a good 20 k just this year of ownership, my 25 mile each way commute helps, and well as the occasional road trip.

As far as the engine series, I would look at gm's media website, and for online VIN decoders might help as well.

My 04's Radio don't fade. The Engineers actually have made it so that the Volume of the radio lowers or gets louder dependent upon your speed and the ambient noise.
It's cool slowing down for a light and having the radio soften ... and, then take-off at the Green and get the volume to rise.

I'm still grinnin' too. I can't believe I got this baby running so darn good I don't want to do a thing.
Sure, I know about how I could start doing little mods, here and there, and pick-up a few ponies ... but, then I remember what a wise man told me many, many years ago.

"Don't (mess) with prosperity!"
I think that if the car is going to run as well as it is, at the moment ... I'm not effing with it even a little bit.
(Although I did have my Chevy Bow Tie Exhaust Tip welded-on today!)
I doubt if I gained or lost any performance by doing that.

I'm glad to hear that you're happy with your new car. This is my 2nd 6th gen, the 1st being a black '01 SS LE loaded. It had 116 when I sold it. The only reason I sold it was because I wanted to do things to that car that wasn't feasable with the L36 engine. I wanted a blower[8D]. I found this Intimidator SS on Ebay for about half price with under 5K miles. Haven't turned back yet. He's got 69K miles, and I keep adding things to it. Was hoping to intercool it this spring, but probably not now, since our work has slowed down.
What if any plans do you have for personalizing it? Got pics?

Mine does too, I luv that. Also luv having the radio controls on the steering wheel.
Mine had 108K miles Oct 27, 2007 when I bought it and now has 111K.
Oh, and I'm still smiling too

2003 3.8 Series II V6 L36 200-hp 225-ft-lbs torque... Your car should last about 186,000-235,000 depending on how well you take care of it and how you treat it.

I have a 2006 SS with 5.3 LS4 only 4334 miles... mine... Mine will last about 35,980-miles before I scatter the motor and burn the trans... probably... But it might be less... but I have a strong feeling regarding this issue...
