I'm with the other guys in asking did you test drive the Monte before buying it? I'm sure if you did truly test drive it then you probably would have noticed the difference, and then if you didn't like it then you probably wouldn't have bought it.

I can't really say too much about the ricer imports, since I never have driven one and I will never own one. I prefer to keep my hard earned American Dollars here in America and not to give them over to the lands over the pond. Ricers may be made here, but where do you think the money goes?

you bought the smallest engine possible, if you wanted to go fast you should have bought the 5.3 ss not the 3.5 lt

i dont understand when people get mad when their cars aren't fast enough, well you were cheap and bought the smallest engine possible! if you want price, then yes your going to get the smallest engine, but if what you want was speed you would have to pay a little more.

Yeah I agree with the others. You get what you pay for..you got theMonte with the smallest engineto save some money. Test drives are crucial when choosing a car. [sm=dontgetit.gif]

I just bought an 07 Monte Carlo LS 3.5.I cannot believe it is such a sled. This car has no torque and the HP is way to little to push this big coupe around.Whats wrong with the 3.5 engine?I traded an 05 Honda EXL V6 Coupe for this car to drop my car payments. My Accord runs circles around this car.
Hi `Doug,
Are you blaming Chevrolet, or yourself for your decision ?
I'm sorry to read that you are unhappy with your purchase.
I've learned early that is pays to do your homework when making
a major purchase. We live, and hopefully we learn.
We believe the Monte Carlo gives a great bang, for the buck $.
It's great to live in a free World, and you can still sell, or trade
`off your investment.
Your 07 Monte should have the 100K Warranty, plus it's the
last year for the Monte Carlo. I think the future resale should
be strong. : )
I'm curious, did you join the forum to just let us know that you
didn't like your Monte, or did you join to see `if you could learn
to improve the performance of your Monte?
I wish you good luck in your future decisions/investments.
`Space-Out

I too am sorry to read you don't like the Monte. 2006 was the first and only year for the 3.9 V6 under the hood of a Monte Carlo to date. 2007 they only got the 3.5 then the V8 the SS got. I can tell you test driving an SS Ijust knew I was going to get a speeding ticket if I owned one.

Please post some pictures of your car for us to see. Thanks.

Interesting I had 06 LT with the 3.5 I thought it did OK. It did what it was supposed to. It didn't pull like my SS does but it had plenty of passing power. at least mine did.
