03JGMonte 03-07-2012 09:03 PM

Well first off its Sr not Jr & its just another dealer car, honestly it doesnt have much on it to set it apart from any other 07 SS

BlackRainSS 03-07-2012 09:08 PM

My bad it is Sr lol just looks like a Jr to me I guess cuz I dont really watch racing but jr stuff is everywhere lol and no beside sthe side decals n the ehadrests thats about it because u can get the stripes off amazon or ebay anyday

monte carlo 3831 03-07-2012 09:10 PM

No certificate, a couple autographs and embroidered headrests, not much more than that, it doesn't do much for me (except the v8)........ The miles are pretty high also for such a rare car.......

BlackRainSS 03-07-2012 09:16 PM

Lol honestly though to me the miles just tells me for once someone bought a car and enjoyed it instead of sitting it in a garage n stroking it n driving it a mile and saying ohh no too far time to go home. lol

03JGMonte 03-07-2012 09:19 PM

Yeah atleast they did drive it, i hate when ppl buy a car & nvr drive it its pointless

red04montels 03-07-2012 09:22 PM

i've seen that around a couple of times, just another dealership trying to make more money

My thoughts exactly. Nothing special at all about this car for how they are trying to promote it. No photo's of the engine bay, wonder how dirty it is?? I mean it's a nice Monte and all but no over the top performance mods done to it at all. Should have worked over the suspension,NASCAR wheels, special tires, put special badges on it and a few other tweaks. The dash looks all scratched up too, like they never even tried to armor-all it or nothing. The bidding should actually start at ?????

Franks 03SS 03-07-2012 09:44 PM

ehh I like it with the stripes:p, first thing i would do is toss them headrests and get some SS ones lol :thumbsup:

Franks 03SS 03-07-2012 09:45 PM

oh and im not diggin the grilles either :p

red04montels 03-07-2012 09:59 PM

I don't like the grilles, I don't really like how rounded off the stripes are either

Taz 03-07-2012 10:08 PM

I know Earnhardt Chevrolet did do some customizations before. We've seen 5th gen Montes on here that were customized by Earnhardt Chevy. But I can't help but think that there's just not a whole lot of customizing in this 07. DEI stripes and headrests. Maybe it's a trick of the light, but the headrests look to be a darker shade than the seats. Like it came from another car maybe?

If it is legit, why no picture of the autographed visors? Why no picture of the certificate provided by the dealership? Seems to me if you're marketting this car based on it's rarity, you'd want to prove that what you have is the real deal.

If you're talking about the DEI stripes on the sides, the style of those stripes are correct. The only thing I notice about them is they're missing the white outline that you see on the real racecar. Seems to me Earnhardt Chevrolet would've known better than to screw up their own logo.

You may prefer the more squared stripes on the dale jr editions. But the ones on that 07 are more authentic.

It looks like a nice car. I like the headrest logo, I wouldn't really want them in may car but they are nice. I think Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet will do signature cars, trucks and whatever they can for ever.

Does look really authentic to jr's stripes. I like it but there could have been a lot more done to this car from the dealer in my opinion. Black ground effects? Red on Black would look awesome especially for this Monte, just my thinking though lol.

I agree with you Justin. I think Earnhardt Chevy could've done a much better job at making a limited edition. Especially if it was only 5 cars.

As for the authentic looking stripes. Considering the white outline is missing, you would think Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet would know better than to screw up their own logo. :wtf:

I'm also questioning how willing Dale Jr would be to co-operate with a project like this. A promotion like this has Theresa Earnhardt written all over it. She's all about making more money for herself. At the time when these cars were made, Dale Jr was in the middle of a dispute with her. A dispute that lead him to announce he was leaving DEI and jumping to Hendrick Motorsports.

werewolf-odst 03-07-2012 10:32 PM

I like it otherwise, but not the decal on the side, everything else is pretty nice, except for that price, good goly!

ZIPPY02 03-07-2012 10:38 PM

Bet it is a Clone....

I was talking about the racing stripes, they're rounded in the corners

I wasn't sure which stripes you were talking about. I don't mind the racing stripes.

06mistreSS 03-08-2012 07:16 AM

I wish they would've taken a shot of the embroidery on the headrests. That's obviously one of the few features of the car and I can't believe they didn't capture those. I mean, they are in one picture, not as the focus, way off to the side. Their racing stripes are way too rounded off on the corners for my liking. The black version say "Dale Sr." WAY more than the red.

AwesomeSS 03-08-2012 08:55 AM

The color of the head rests don't even match the rest of the seat color. Totally made up car.

BlackRainSS 03-08-2012 09:40 AM

Wow missed a lot of comments while i was asleep, I jsut thought it was interesting so I posted it lol.

03JGMonte 03-08-2012 09:50 AM

The drivers side visor is signed by Dale Earnhardt and passenger visor is signed by Kerry Earnhardt.
I sure hope they mean Dale Jr cuz if not than its deff a fake lol, but it is supposed to be a Sr Special Edition so who knows lol, but id stay away from it

BlackRainSS 03-08-2012 10:01 AM

Yeah Im a bi confused on how the visors are signed :O

Enzo354 03-08-2012 11:13 AM

I hope some guy scammed the dealer. Wanted to trade in his car so he took the visors to get signed, put vinyls on the side, and put in headrests. Then proceeded to get a lot more on his trade in lol.

Jester_20 03-08-2012 11:43 AM

if someone actually did that and ripped off a dealer, i want to shake his hand! That'd be hilarious.

I'm not really a fan of the car itself, it's basically some vinyl, some headrests (with a logo that's too big for them), and a grill. i honestly don't mind the vinyl on the side, but can't say that i'm too fond of the embroidery/grill. I'd pass. . . . . especially given the price tag.

03JGMonte 03-08-2012 11:50 AM

It would be hilarious but than the dealer would just rip the buyer off so that sucks

BlackRainSS 03-08-2012 12:16 PM

If that were the case I'd love to shake that guys hand too :congrats: I dont think the grill is too horrible but im not a fan of any of the stripes, the headrests eh. lol

03JGMonte 03-08-2012 12:46 PM

I found the black one & the red is missing a few lil details

Classic Car Marketing

BlackRainSS 03-08-2012 12:53 PM

I like the black one better lol but what is the red one missing? I only could get one picture of the black one.

03JGMonte 03-08-2012 01:04 PM

The earnhardt dealership logo on the C post, the red one might be real, but the fact that there kinda cheap dealer made cars im thinking they had some 07s they couldnt sell & tried to make em more appealing

Leprechaun93 03-08-2012 01:43 PM

Just found this on ebay myself, not a real fan of it seems rather fake to me

MnteCrloSS47 03-08-2012 03:45 PM

when I was looking for a new monte carlo, I looked at a red one and my black one. The red one had 43K on it, was 17 grand. My black one had 38500 miles, and was 16 grand. I asked the dealer why I should pay a grand more with more miles, and he told me 'this is a special edition dale jr. Monte carlo!' I looked and it had a STICKER on the back window said dale jr. And a MAGNET on the back saying dale jr. With a signature.
I told him I wanted the sticker scraped off and the magnet removed if I buy it, but he wouldn't budge on the price, so
Black Licorice won! :D
