06 ss

I found a 2006 Monte SS with 40000 one owner miles on it today. It comes with a 12000 mile warranty and is fully loaded. The dealer is asking $16000 for it. Is this a good deal? I'm going to take it for a ride tomorrow. Is there anything specific I should watch for on this model?

It's a decent price, if it's a decent SS
Please be patience, & I am sure our member's that
have the 06/07 SS will post their opinion's.

I strongly suggest asking dealer for a CarFax Report,
that gives a history on subject SS.
Owners/service/in service dates, etc..

If you are not a mechanic or inclined, I alo suggest
searching out someone you trust that has automotive
knowledge & inviting them to test drive with you.

Read the warranty that is offered, really close.
R. U. Trading ?
Dealer's play games with #'s, but if you are
buying out right (no trade) You can play the
bid'in Game. If you like the SS, then Start
with offering like $13K, and adjust to what you
are willing to pay, or not...It's your hardWork'in $'s.

Great tips Space!! (I wish I knew you before I bought my car haha)
Also see why the last owner sold it. It sounds like a pretty good deal, but always check out a few options.

That looks like a great price concidering I'm selling mine privately for 17.5 with 27k miles on it.

Kinda high mileage for the year - find out when it was built - early or late 06 - then you might have some wiggle room on the price.

Also, are there any available exhausts out there to make these things loud, or are real duals an option? Stock systems are too quiet for me.

Too high on price but that's to be expected from the dealer. I paid less than that for my 06 with 28K just this past january

I bought my 2006 SS for $16,600 with 16,500 miles on it (2 owners, but it's GM Certified Used). You should be able to talk that price down.

Good luck!

I didn't get an SS but I bought my '06 LTZ in october, 2006 with 10,8xx miles on it for $17k.

Sounds like this dealer is asking a bit TOO much for the car.

didnt get to drive that ss today. its been raining here all day so i figured id wait till it dries up. ive been debating trading my 2000 z/28 in on it if i really like it, so i need to know how it performs on dry pavement. the guys over at ls1 tell me they run about 14.5 stock, so i figure with some mods i can get to about where my camaro is now. anyone ever run their 06 ss against a late model f body? if so, how'd you do? and how do you make these cars loud? is duals and glasspacks an option, or are there clearance issues? i'd really like to have that car if eveything falls in place. it looks awesome!!! thanks for the help.
