Thanks for the props guys.

SpaceRider,
Cool image. Thanks for the art work.

My garage is actually a 38x28x20 barn my parents helped me build. They were tired of all the cars in the drive way. In the beginning things were fine. Then all the cars wouldn't fit inside at one time.

Now there's three that set out and a few that set inside.[sm=oopssign.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

Wiz Kid,
To tell the truth I cleaned the car like three times last week. Wiping it down wasn't enough. Then I waxed it. Guess I wasn't finished then either cause a couple days later I wiped it off again.

Even bought a nice cozy king size blanket to cover the Monte with for the tme being. Got it on sale at Sears for $20.

Meguiars quick detailer works awesome for those in-between washing & waxing times.

WoW RJ, you can start your own Chevy Car Club

You really are fortunate to have such a beautiful collection.
1957 Must be your favorite year ? Are the engines 283 CI ?
What is the HP rating?

I would place them all under a Christmas Tree & made a group
photo. Post more infor and post about them. I'd say that Santa
has treated you well. You must have been a good boy : )

Thanks for sharing your treasure with the forum... I EnJoyed...

Spacerider,

The blue BelAir Hardtop is my very first and my very first car. Got it when I was 14 in july, 1972. I still own it today. (I realize this is going against the laws of nature by keeping the car.)
The car was purchased by my parents as my high school graduation present I got 4 years early. They paid $150 for the car. My father had to drive it the 8 miles to our house cause I didn't have a driver's license. It sat in the backyard for 1.5 years while I searched for parts cause it'd been used as a parts car when I found it.
It has a '1968 327 under the hood with a '64 Saginaw 4-speed behind it. Since the '70s were a time of everyone throwing out the stock engines and interiors in Classic Chevies I did a little of the same myself. I wanted "MY" '57 Chevy to have a V8, a 4-speed, and bucket seats. I eventually got to this stage.

The pink 210 4-door is as original as I can keep it. I got it in august, 1975 from the original owner's estate. I paid $100 for the car and drove it home with 45,000 miles on the original 283 and powerglide. The car now has 81,000 original miles on it. I don't drive it much anymore because I don't want to put the miles on it.

The pink BelAir Hardtop I got from a guy I went to school with. He wanted $700 for the car and no one wanted to pay it. I offered $150 and he accepted. The car had a locked up 283 in it with a Muncie 4-speed with Mr. Gasket V-gate shifter in it. It spent a few years on the drag strip racing under the name "Mr. 57." When I painted the car myself in 1990-91 I found the roof still had "Mr. 57" painted on it above both quarter windows. For pretty much 20 years now a '69 302 sets under the hood with the Muncie 4-speed and V-gate shifter in it. It has 4 new SS Cragars on it with 4 new tires. The back Cragars are custom made I had made by Cragar earlier this year through Summiit Racing.

The green looking Wagon is actually a windowed Sedan Delivery it's rumored Chevy only made 92 of in 1957 by the Special Order and Fleet department at Chevy. They later built the COPO Camaros you hear about. This Delivery was pulled from a southern Indiana field next to the Ohio river in the mid-70s. I bought the Delivery in october, 1981 and gave $1,000 for it. It has a 1960 235 6 cylinder with a stock 3-speed manual transmission in it. My Delivery was also ordered with a bench seat where most Sedan Deliveries got either one bucket seat or two it ordered that way.

The white 150 Wagon I bought from a guy I've been friends with since childhood. It has an early '70s 350 under the hood with a '70s long tail Muncie 4-speed and Hurst shifter. It sports black interior with bucket seats in the front and the stock back seat. In late 2004 I put in all new carpet front to rear. In 2005/06 I put a new clutch set up, 4 new tires and new exhaust under it.

The sad looking 210 2-door Sedan I bought in october, 2004 from a guy who told me it was his very first car he got in 1975. The sat for almost 30 years when I found it. I didn't get an engine but I did get a Muncie 4-speed with the car when I paid $300 for it. I've got a 74/75 350 with turbo 350 transmission to go in it when I get the chance.

I've had the '86 LS Monte since late 1996 when my parents once again came to the rescue and bought the car for me. They paid the $2,800 price to a guy who abused the car. At the time I didn't have a job and couldn't afford the car. But they knew how much I wanted a 4th generation Monte so they bought it. I've done my best to take care of the car and find the missing pieces or fix what was broken on it. I've have people offer to "Take It Off My Hands" but I couldn't part with it. I know people rag on the 305s Chevy stuck under the hood of the 1980s Montes but I like mine just fine. The car did get an engine transplant before I bought it. It has a 305 H O engine under the hood the guy I got it from paid someone $850 to put in. I'd have done the job for $400. [sm=smiley36.gif]
