Ok so I just started wondering what the specs look like for the Monte with the V8. And I have not came up with much through my internet search. I was looking for 1/4 mile and 0-60 for the stock versions. I saw one site that said 0-60 was 6.0 but that didn't seem right to me. However when I was searching I came across some mustang forum that were trying to all say how their 04 GTs could beat the new Monte http://www.mustangforums.com/m_908842/tm.htm. Surely not, since I have seen an 06-07 SS race an 06-07 GT and it was a total beat down by the SS. But I don't know if those cars were stock or what. So tell me what you guys know.

0-60 is a little faster than 6 sec it is more like 5.7 sec.
Chevy had it advertised on their page at 5.6 sec
Some of the car rags had it at 5.7 sec
I got 5.7 sec with a buddys dashwak

As far as the new GT's go if they are stock and auto if you launch good you will get them.
The manual onesare a little harder to beat.

The 04 GT's non Cobra's and non Mach's stock are not faster than the 06 - 07 MCSS but most of them are not stock.
04 GT 260 HP
04 Mach 1 305 hp
04 Cobra 390 HP

 

[align=center]I think a 06-07 Monte Carlo SS[/align][align=center]that is broken in `correctly, and has a CAI/Exhaust/Tuned[/align][align=center]with break into the 13 sec bracket 1/4 mile[/align][align=center]and [/align][align=center]0-60 MPH in the mid to low 5's[/align][align=center][/align][align=center](*When I raced, I never had more then a 1/4 tank[/align][align=center]of gas, and no junk in my `ride).[/align][align=center][/align][align=center]Also, I think the experience of the driver can[/align][align=center]make a big difference in ET's.[/align][align=center][/align][align=center]I look forward to seeing more post with[/align][align=center]1/4 times from member's.[/align][align=center]Many are running in the mid 13's.[/align][align=center]Peace/Space[/align]

 

Cars.com shows0-60 @ 5.81, and 14.71 @ 98.32 for the 1/4 for the 07 SS. They're usually pretty accurate, but their stats for the 1/4 sound a little slow to me.

I owned an 02 Mustang GT(auto) not long ago, which is the same as an 04. Mine wasstock other than manifold-back exhaust, X-pipe and high-flow cats, and I can assure you that my100% stock 06 SS is much faster.

 

in my o6 mcss i raced an 06 mustang gt with an autotrans. it had an catback exhaust and a cold air intake. where as i had those and then the diablo sport tuned with their fuel saving tune. i raced and i had people behind me saying that i had it but then their where those that say the mustang won. i personally think i did. but otherwise since we were that close in his 300 hp mustang i would think the old model mustangs would be raped.

 

Yes now these are the kind of results that i wanted to hear. Mustangs are overrated

i ran a 14.08 @ 99 on my second pass with my 07 SS. it just has cat back magna flow exhaust. i have the time slip to prove it. my 0-60 is a lot faster than 6.0. I have not tested it yet. I am also running on the original tires with 30k on them. this car will smoke and gt, some cobras, will hang with a Z28. these cars are sweet. I have plans for drag radials, cold air, exhaust cut out and a pro tune. I hope to be in the mid to low 13s when im done. i will also put in new plugs. i will post my time slips as i make mods so we can keep track of what helps at the track.
