Default '04 Monte With 90K Starting Harsh Shifting??

My Monte is right at 90,000 miles.
Recently, I have been "Feeling" the tranny shift.
I don't know if it's supposed to be shifting like this or not.

I'm not sure how to describe it.
It's still smooth and automatic; but the actual moment when the shift is made seems to be pronounced rather than a dissolve from Second into Third.

Not very often. But, sometimes, ... it "Bumps" to get-going at a light.
Or, when I back-out of the driveway and shift from Reverse into Drive.

I recently had my Transmission Fluid changed. I looked at the Dipstick and its right up-there on the Top of the crosshatch.

Happy Summer to the Monte Forum Members,

Does the shifting get worse when the engine/tranny have warmed up?

sounds like the trans pressure solenoid. Pull the codes, and see if one for long shift is in there. That code does not set the SES light off.

i know if it has a small slip and you put fresh tranny fluid in it it will make it worse then actually helping the problem.... hehe reminds me of when someone wanted there filter checked because they said it seemed clogged. well once we dropped the pan a little bit we sure noticed it had nothing to do with the filter.. that fluid was pitch black.... and stunk like crazy

this happens pretty comonly when you accelerate really hard all the time and quickly release the pedal. if its released when it is about to shift. shifting, or just shifted. its really hard on it dropping all those rpms. i screwed up my impala and it didnt like to go from 3rd to 4th gear really good. i since accelerate hard and slowly easy off the pedal letting the rpm drop slower
