I took a quick peak at the pics you posted and your car does have the high sports appearance package and that's why you have the special cluster.

 

All the high sport edition cars along with the special edition cars, pace cars, earnhardt, gordon, etc. got the limited edition guage cluster. Not sure when they quit putting them on there though if your 05' doesn't have it.

 

WRONG!

Mine isn't like that at all! The '02 speedo I have, but haven't put in yet IS more like that. I REALLY miss the lit red bow-tie!

Sorry for the quality, It's an old Ebay pic. I've got it boxed up. Notice the red bow-tie, Dale's signature, and the red #3 on the left corner and RCR on the right corner. I REALLY do need to get this in before the show season!

 

The Dale Jr edition doesn't have it either.

 

RocknSS04, glad you got your power trip for the day. And I guess everyone else who stated the high sport cars were the ones to get this gauge cluster, you're wrong too. So educate us, why did a non high sport, non special edition car get a limited edition gauge cluster since you obviously know everything about the 6th gen monte.

 

My guess is the cluster got swapped out with one from a Pace car?

I thought ONLY the Pace cars got the Limited Edition speedos?

The Signature Series got the speedos with the signatures in them of course. And the regular and high sport appearence SS Montes just got the plain speedo like the LS Montes got.

 

My speedo has defiantly never been swapped out. I've seen a couple 02's as well with the limited edition speedo. Not sure about other years. Mine has every option available from the factory for that year including the high sport package.

 

I'm guessing that the last year they stopped putting that cluster in the Montes is 03. So I think 00-03 were the years.

 

this is why i thought his car was blue, since for 03 the pace car color was blue...
