I couldn't vote ... because I'd want to buy multiple generations.....

I already have the generations I want. BUT, I've NEVER bought a Monte Carlo brand new:

Here's what I'd buy brand new, if I could....
1970 MC SS 454 ... red
1972 MC Custom ... midnight bronze
1973 MC, with 454 and swivel bucket seats ... dark green
1976 MC ... triple black w/red pinstripe
1979 MC ... silver
1981 MC ... 2-tone brown/tan
1987 MC LS ... light blue
1987 MC SS Aerocoupe ... white/saddle
...and probably a few others, too.... he he
.

If I could order a Monte Carlo new from the factory I would order a 1973 Monte Carlo Landau coupe for a couple reasons:
1. It still looks like a muscle car.
2. NO EMISSIONS TESTING.
Below is a picture of what it would look like.
I would order it with the following options:
-Silver metallic paint
-Red half vinyl top with red center line rubber door guards
-Black interior with vinyl seats
-Swivel bucket seats
-Floor console with shifter
-Rally gauges with 120mph speedometer and tachometer
-AM/FM stereo
-Rear window defogger
-A/C
-Cruise Control
-Manual windows and door locks
-15x7 Rally wheels
-454 cubic inch V8
-Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 transmission
-3.08:1 gear ratio
-positraction
-dual exhaust
I would upgrade the car with the following after getting it:
-Hedman caramic coated, long tube, headers
-2.5-inch Tru-X exhaust with Flowmaster Series 40 two-chamber mufflers
-Grand Prix 245/60-15 Performance GT white letter-outline tires
-GM Performance Parts serpentine belt conversion kit with A/C
-Replace the factory clock with an in-dash VDO oil pressure gauge
-Upgrade the AM/FM stereo with a Custom Autosound USA-1 AM/FM/Cassette deck with MP3 jack
-SSBC rear disc brake conversion.
-Rebuild the engine to GM Performance Parts HO454 crate motor specifications (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NA...4/?image=large)
-1977 Pontiac Trans-Am shaker hood scoop
-GM 12-bolt rear end with Eaton posi and OEM 3.42 gears
-Gear Vendor Under/Overdrive

I voted 06-07 Monte...not just cause I have one, but because when this body style came out is when I really fell in love with the Monte Carlo...I always liked them, but I just Loved them when I saw the 06 come out.
If money/ gas was not an issue, I would order a FULLY loaded 07 SS. Color would have to be either my color, black, or the maroon.

I like all Generations of the Monte Carlo,
but I really love the 4th Gen.
I would order a new 1988 Monte Carlo SS
with every option, except T-Tops
Black Exterior/Gray Interior
Would implant a Crate 350/Blueprinted/Balance
& mild cam....& the mod dreams continues
