I'd take any of those first gens.that 71 402 with a 4 speed would be awesome to have.

 

Hi `Chris, I agree that it is a Super Monte 4-Sure, but it's over $12K more then the first "454"c.i. Black Monte I posted.
At first I didn't like the wheels but the more I looked @ it the more I liked it...I would love 2 see it in person & check it `out more...

I'm just happy that there's still some super Monte's out there of all generations `if one has the $'s to get them....

The first ones price tag seems off to me.The rest seemed about right.Still if I had the cash I'd grab it in a hart beat.
I love first gens.Theres just some thing about a big car with a big engine that just seems so right

Is that a small block in thereTakes a good amount of work an $$$$ to make a 454 sbc.I don't know something just doesn't seem right here.The body looks great even with a 350 it still should be a lot more.

 

LOL `Chris, I don't think it's a 454 either & I was waiting to see `if any member posted that it's a short block...It does have the 454 Emblem, but emblems are a lot cheaper then a 454.. Maybe it's a 400 ? Someone call the dealer (LOL) ?
I guess U could bore & stroke a small block out, but I think the cylinder walls would be thin & I know that I'd blow it `up 4-Sure It still seems like a super good price...

You can get a 454 sbc but it cost about $8000+ or build one for around $4000-5000 (the right way).The cost involved an the selling price just don't seem to add up right.
Hardcore racing makes a 454 sbc that puts out some thing like 700+hp for $13k.
Thats a little too much for me

I was going to email them & ask about it, but I hope whoever got `it joins the MCF

 

I hope they do.It was a good looking monte 4-sure.
The SS 454 with a small block in there just didn't sound right.Maybe it's a clone?
On a side note all the monte's you post are scrolling through on the cars.com ad on the side bar right
