Cannot find the timeslip right now for the 02 but her fastest time in the quarter mile is mid sixteen second range.
Now for the 84 Monte.
Best 1/4 mile is 14.582 seconds at 97.52 MPH and best 1/8 mile time is 9.514 at 76.90MPH
See timeslip, pics and video below

It's been a few years since I had it at the strip. I never really wanted to go all the time and beat the crap out of my car. I can't afford the repairs. But I like taking it after upgrades and I've been there 3 times to settle a grudge match and came out on the winning end all 3 times. I had a friend with some V8 Lexus who got me out to the drag strip for the first time. I raced a buddies '78 Camaro on 2 separate occasions and the BudChev has been that cars Archilles heel - the Camaro is faster, but has never beat the BudChev in a head-to-head race.

The slip bellow is my personally best vs. a '72 Monte Carlo that a friend had just dropped a Chevy Racing crate engine in and gears (?). He said my Monte wasn't a real Monte (cuz FWD). Mine was #1423 and if you notice, the BudChev was actually a touch slower than his at 14.38, but I still pulled out the win cuz I have a pretty good reaction time

All I have is a grainy video of my Monte hurting a 2000ish Eclipse's feelings in the 1/8th. I finished with a 9.27 @ 79, he finished with like 11 @ 65 or some junk. Long time ago. I'd like to get it together and race my Monte again, hopefully mid-high 8's in the 1/8th...

For those of you that have drag-raced down 1/8-mile tracks, would you say it's just as much fun as a 1/4-mile track, or only just half as fun since it's half as long?

Sometimes I think even a 1/4-mile isn't really enough "room to run", and that the fun's over too soon... I wonder if there are any 1/2-mile tracks anywhere? (Probably not, but it'd be a great track.)

1/8 mile is way too short. By the time you get going, it's over. Too bad the closest 1/4 mile track to me is over 200 miles away.

Space, thanks, it's mainly getting the time and dealing with companies selling poor products that I have to modify to get to work. Soon I'll get her up and going again though.

I personally prefer the 1/4 mile and most days the 1/4 mile is not long enough.
I think it is harder to run the 1/4 because you have more time to make a mistake, incorrectly judge the speed of the other driver, and/or not get your dial in right on your car. I think it is more of a challenge than the 1/8 mile but it IS twice as much wear and tear on the car.
I have not heard of any 1/2 mile dragstrips but it is not to say there are not any out there.
