good luck.

plugs + intake? 5 hp? maybe.

Your engine is pretty decent for saving gas money. The weight of the Monte really robs that engine of any pep. The only way you are going to get fast is not with simple bolt on jobs, it's going to be custom fabricated work, or an engine swap.

yeah i agree with sheep. 5hp increase possibly with plugs and CAI. you could get your lower intake manifold ported along with a larger throttle body and you could see some gains of around 7-10hp roughly(i think). i'm not sure what kind of gains ppl have had with that kind of mod.

a custom tuned pcm would net some extra hp.

a cat back exhaust at a muffler shop might get you 1-2hp so that will be minimal, but if you can get it to sound good, it would set your car apart from the rest of the field along with the rest of the mods listed above.
