Yikes, pulling wires scares me. On my '99, it's as easy as removing one fuse. The fuse only controls the daytime running lights, nothing else. I guess that between '99 and now, the engineers at GM have figured out a way to complicate things.

I have a 2005 MC S/C I installed HIDs about a year ago and I did not want them to Run all day / In the morning. So I tried Just pulling the relay and it worked for ME. My 05 shows no indicators...

My problem is I have 2.5" offroad pipe and the DAM The engine LIGHT stays on that annying enough haha.. I was thinking of trying this, thank you,

You couldn't have searched too hard for a solution:

Default My experience with disabling the DRLs

Wow! I didn't know you had to do all that! All I did was remove the DRL Relay a while back and haven't had any issues since. No SES Light or anything. I think this procedure might not be needed on 2005 Montes.

same here. I have an 05 as well and get no SES light at all. I was curious if this would work cause when I pulled the relay on my 99 malibu, i got the SES light.

2000 - 2005 Chevrolet Impala. Simply pull the DRL relay out of the fuse block under the hood and bend over pin 87. Why this works: Pins 87 and 30 are the two pins that are connected together when the relay is energized. Bending 87 over will still let the relay energize but since the pin is bent over, the DRL's don't come on. As long as the computer senses the resistance of the relay coil between the two trigger pins (85 and 86) it thinks all is OK and doesn't set any codes. If you bend over either of the trigger pins like suggested for other vehicles, the computer will display "Service Vehicle Soon" in the info center.
Note: probably works for other model years and for Monte Carlo too.

I did this on my 2005 monte carlo ss over a year ago . I cut the pin off
