Default Cheap 2.5" Exhaust upgrade for 3400/3500/3800 Cars

Hello everyone! I share this tip via email often when asked and want to make sure everyone knows about it

I see a lot of posts regarding an V8 Impala SS exhaust on a 3.4 or 3.8 Impala, or the 3.5/3.9 newer gens.

The 3.9 actually has the same exhaust as the V8, but the 3.4, 3.5 and 3.8 it is an upgrade, even on 3.8 Supercharged.

If you go to RockAuto and search for Walker #55525, you'll see it's an intermediate pipe for a 3.9/V8 that's 2.5" diameter, stretches from the back of the resonator all the way to the inlet of dual mufflers including the Y-pipe, and it costs only $42.

Paired with your choice of resonator or straight pipe (Walker resonator is only $42 again, and includes the flange to mate to the downpipe, and your choice of mufflers/tips, you'll have a very inexpensive exhaust upgrade!

Will (Overkill) Shared this tip. I wanted you all to see it too.

Swap the word Impala for Monte Carlo

Basically our stock systems aren't truly 2.5" and this is an easy bolt in way to get that 2.5"

Amazon.com has this part in stock and free shipping.

Good tip - the SLP system is also 2.5 inches but my Dynomax system isn't.

Yep, I have the GMPP Cat-Back so I'm a good 2.5" too already.

But I thought I would pass along the knowledge haha

Hmm i may have to crawl under the intrigue and see if this would work... more than likely, then it's just a matter of cutting a second exhaust cut outin the bumper... hmmm the exhaust is getting kinda loud on the intrigue!! and not in a good way

^^^ I might do the same to my Regal. Had 4 GTPs before the Regal, not a problem for the dual mufflers, but I need to build up the nerve to cut up a perfectly good rear bumper cover!
