Mod Guide: Changing you DASH (Speedo Light color) for under $10 !! Some pics
ehhh...im thinking this is kinda iffy...im a 16 year old who isnt exactly rich and wants his monte to look sweet...but lol, what if i break some **** when im working...$100 repair at the least...ik to be careful, but with these cars, who knows...there could be a fault from the factory, like my 3.8 V6 valve covers going out, almost never happens in a 3.8 under 250,000 miles...and mine did it at 120,000...fault from the factory, so im hesitant to do this when it could hurt my car that i dont have the money to fix
well..i really do want to, with orange lighting...and id have to know how thick the plastic in this thread is...cuz id want the orange to be as bright as possible...but its kinda like, i dont trust myself to be able to do this completely right and not get frustrated and break something lol
Hello, JUST FAINNLY made it to my Hobby shop and picked up some blue plastic for someone that needed it, but I cant remember who it was. So if it was yoou, please PM me as I have it in hand. Also, would ANYONE want to see the UNCUT sheet of plastic? I bought my red one and will be installing it this week end and Ill post some picture so you can see the red lite up..... (AS ststed, I have an EXTRA SHEEET of BLUE) BUT when I was at the Hobbie shop, I noticed that they have about 10 diff colores, (Green, Blue, Red, Orange, Purple, Yellow, etc...) thanks a ton...MJ
Great idea! The color choices are almost endless too!
I'm pretty sure this stuff is the same as lighting film. You can usually find it in a DJ store, etc. Here links to retail locators for 2 of the more popular brands.

I'd like to see additional pics from others if they choose this route too...
Hope this helps,
~Mike

Hello, I FINALLY did my Speedo in the RED, Ithink it looks cool as heck, If any of you guys did this yet, how did it work out for you? Check out the pictures of the RED speedo and tell me if you like it better than the Blue. I like the RED in the Speedo gauge and the others in BLUE.... What do you think????? Thanks....MJC

Hello, It is exactly .05 " of an inch. Look at the pictures of the red I just did. It literally took me 20 minutes from start to finish (thats taking the dash apart, cutting the plastic, test fitting, and putting it back together. THEN taking pictures. NOT a hard job at all, on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the hardest, its a 1.... that easy, no BS.... Let me know if you want ORANGE and Ill see if they have it, When I was there last time, they had about 15 different colors, Purple, Blue red, orange, yellow green, etc.... thanks and hope you tackle it... its cool... MJC....
the picture in his signature is not his, he has a black 6th gen, he was just showing the sweet intimidator
