Don't know if this will help, but I had to go through 3 complete retries only because I didn't follow the instructions to the letter... Granted, my first PCM tune was a canned tune from Intense... When Will did it in car, it turned over right away... Good luck...

 

Light was still flashing.
turned off for 45 seconds (did not remove key)
ATTEMPT TO START FAILED.

However, i heard 4 Dings and there is no security light. Progress?

waiting 12 more... then will turn to off.. should i attempt to start? or go back to ON?

 

Well, i attempted to start it.. no dice. i got the 4 dings again.

However i'm toast. the light came back. i had to give up for today. it's getting late and i needed to get the windows rolled up. i opened the door and had to get in. all my dash lights went dim. horn started beeping like the car was dying.. the battery has been drained. i'll have to borrow a battery charger now and start all over again.

 

oh, one final note for the moment..

I have an aftermarket alarm system. don't know if that makes a huge difference or not. but it does go through one tone cycle after reconnecting the battery and then stays armed.. i can't seem to actually disarm the thing.

 

I don't think the aftermarket alarm matters.

You may just have a bad tune, which is quite common from ZZP unfortunately.

 

It sounds like there may be some confusion about the relearn procedure. The first turn of the key is the ACC position. The second position is the ON/RUN position. Turn the key to the ON/RUN position and leave it there for 11 Minutes. Then turn the key to the OFF position and leave it there for 10 Seconds. Repeat 3 times (On for 11 minutes/Off for 10 seconds/On for 11 minutes/Off for 10 seconds/On for 11 minutes/Off for 10 seconds) then START the car.

 

so the TOTAL number of cycles is 3, not 4? saying "repeat 3 times" is saying total is 4. i'm going to try for a total of 3 times, meaning the repeat is 2. and i'll go to

gonna start this in about 30 minutes or so.. battery is still charging.

 

Isn't there an option to let it sit on the on position for 30 mins and then start it.
I know I had problems with the relearn also, I did the second option, I no longer have the instructions.

 

yeah, there is.. but the light was still flashing after 35 minutes, and still wouldn't crank..

 

What's this relearn process you all speak of? I had no issues with a zzp pcm?
