Hi Jonathan,
Member 2000BlackSS `Luke posted some great links
to zzperformanace, but `if I had your 01SS, I
would take the $250, get a friend and take a Road Trip
and enjoy driving your awesome Monte Carlo.
It`s great to mod `Out, but it`s also great to get behind
the wheel, and hit some great roads and enjoy.
Oh, take pictures on your Road Trip, and post them : )
I hear all the time from the older residents around me state
"I wish I would`ve".....EnJoy your Now,
EnJoy your Monte Carlo....you worked for it.
Now, EnJoy

RE: what now?
your not going to see 30 hp to the wheels you might see that to the crank maybe, but to be realistic it is probably like 8-10 to the wheels if that. but when i did that with the powerlog it was a noticable difference the top end was much better.

RE: what now?
Powerlog is by far the least gain out of the 3 mods. Out of the installs I have done, this is how I would rate them on power output on NA cars:
-rockers
-HV3
-plog
The hv3 gives decent gains, but only at the very top end- down low grunt isn't really changed. The rockers seem to give a good gain across most of the entire powerband- so you feel them more all the way through, not just at redline.
You power rolls off the faster you get going because these engines were not designed to be top end screamers. NA and supercharged 3800s have great grunt down low, but the head and intake design sucks for upper rpm performance- plus the cam was designed to give big torque down low for daily driving but it sacrifices top end as a result.
The only 3800s I've seen that seem to keep that strong pull feeling you refer to are the turbo cars- and I think that may be more related to the lack of traction down low- so you can keep rolling into the throttle more and more the faster you go.
