i see on wot-tech.com they have an upper and lower sportsman/competition ported intake manifolds...if i were to get both of them would i need to get an upgraded pcm as well?what if i just got the upper manifold? any help would be appreciated

I dont think you would need an upgraded PCM just for the manifolds. Your best bet would be to ask Ben on 60degreev6. He runs WOT-tech so he would be able to tell you for sure.

BTW you have the 3400 not the 3.4.

You are correct. But I think what Matt is talking about is how its distinguished.

When you say 3.4L, that generally refers to the 3.4L DOHC engine that were found in the 5th gen Z34's.

When you say 3400, that refers to the 3.4L found in 6th LS Monte's.

 

Thanks Mike. Yes thats what I meant. Especially if you go post on 60*v6, if you say 3.4, it can also mean the 3.4L out of the early 90s camaros.

 

dohc sounds a bit ricey to me.
