Default Turbo for '95 z34?

Hello all, I have a '95 monte carlo and am wondering if there is any sort of retrofitting or something that I can do to mod my car for turbo? Is there anything out there for the car specifically? My dad told me about some sort of electric driven turbo, is that still availible? If so where? I need help guys!

Most likely not, there wasn't much for the DOHC engines. It's mostly all going to be custom done.

Search electric turbo on this forum. You'll find many good reasons against installing one. They're just a waste of money.

There definately aren't many mods for a 3.4 DOHC... The few mods available from milzymotorsports are OVERPRICED.

First thing I would look into is tuning (assuming you're serious). You can literally fab up a turbo kit for ANY car- and since the 3100/3400 and 3800 have the same exhaust routing- and both have had numerous turbo setups- its obviously very possible to add. There is nothing bolt on for the 3.4 DOHC, but any real fabrication shop could do it no problem- its just a matter of making a turbo mount in place of the crossover- and routing the exhaust out.

However, if you can't tune for it- you're screwed. I would think if you upgraded to OBD2 with a 96 or 97 DOHC engine bay harness- maybe a DHP Powrtuner could do it? Or maybe something else similar? That's really going to be the hard part.

Oh, and scrap the electric turbo idea- no electric motor is going to be able to make 10+ psi and spin the thing at 50,000+ rpm.

Yeah I definatly want to stay away from the whole electric/supercustommod turbos. Thanks all, it was more out of curiosity than anything.

The whole deal with the electric turbo/supercharger is, they give you more horse power at lower rpm then when the engine needs more air (in higher rpm) it actually creates restriction. beware they are a gimmmic.

^^^^^^ Yep, L67... If you have the ability.
But then again, turbo 3.4 with a turbo would be unique, thats for sure.
