You just take the bolts off with a socket and pop it apart (takes a bit of force to break the seal).
There is no gasket. Most use anearobic sealer putting it back together. Ive seen some use RTV without issue too, but have never perosnally tried that.
Just use it sparingly - the two surfaces are flat so theres nowhere for the excess to go except to squish out - half of it inside the gearbox. Ive seen people who had put on a fat bead of rtv and immediately torqued it down while still wet. Ended up with a bunch of shredded rtv bits floating all over the oil.
