Default tranny switch

i, like many others, am a bit bummed out that the newer model monte's are automatic transmission. not that its not hella smooth and still has some get up and go, but i still like to feel my whip. has anyone considered a tranny switch into a 5 or maybe 6 speed manual? save me the research, no luck yet.

i believe we have discussed this, try searching...but in short it is very costly, basically u need to swap out the tranny, redo the undercarrage, redo ur entire center counsel and the floorboards and shut, then if u cant do it urself pay sum1 $50 and hour to do it...its fricken expensive

There are two choices of manuals that would work behind your engine. The first is the Getrag 284, but it is extremely rare and expensive and hard to find parts for. The other is a 6 speed out of a newer pontiac car like a G6.Alot of people want to swap out their autos but it never gets anywhere because of the emmense amount of work and time it would take.
