i have a stock 01 ss with 81000 miles. my tranny just went out and i need a new one. i am thinking of putting on a turbo charger on the monte. i now i will need bigger injectors and the turbo anything else? and now the tranny i think i need to upgrade it but no idea where to start. is there a heavyduty tranny for the ss? or do i need a kit for a standard tranny? thanks for the help in advance

you should do the HD upgrade and also if your rebuilding a LSD (limited slip differential) is a must! the HD was std in the supercharged cars. if you can find a HD trany (4t65e HD) get it. if not the HD parts will swap in yours.

also if your considering turbo... have you looked at this kit? http://www.cartuning.ca/index2.php ZZP also has kits too. look over both. if you or someone you know, know about turbo's you prob can set up a turbo much cheeper then these kits... but atleast they are a guide. a PCM tuner is also a good idea... im using a DHP Power tuner... and love it
