I'd rather see you go turbo instead.

It will wind up costing almost the same but you will have much more modification options down the line.

L67 belt tensioner

33# injectors
L67 crank pulley
L67 MAP sensor
L67 heads
L67 LIM
L67 Valve Covers
L67 fuel rail
Head Bolts
Rocker Bolts
S/C Bolts
LIM Bolts
L36 to L67 wiring harness adapter kit
Vac lines (I used 7/64" rubber hose)
Coil pack bracket from a 97-98 GT/GTP
S/C belt
2 changes worth of oil/oil filters
2 jugs of coolant
GM S/C Oil (need 6 oz.)
Reprogrammed PCM
Some sort of intake like a FWI or CAI
180*-thermostat
Copper-core spark plugs that are 1 range colder than stock
At least ported manifolds with a 3" downpipe with the u-bend deleted, Headers preferably

Gaskets:

Head Gaskets
S/C gasket
TB gasket
LIM gasket
LIM o-rings
Valve Cover gaskets
Fuel rail o-rings
Gray RTV gasket maker
Teflon tape
Copper gasket spray
Out of curiosity, what happens if you don't up the downpipe size and don't run ported manifolds? Is it just a performance thing, or can you break something?

You need to then run a larger pulley than the stock 3.8 because with the higher compression of your block there's a fantastic chance you will have high KR and could chip a piston.

id love to get a turbo chibi but the chances of that happening are very slim, my dad is getting mad about me even thinking about supercharging it so i know a turbo will be out of the question lol.

Another dumb question...

Why do you need a different coil pack bracket? Is that the whole engine bracket assembly that needs replaced, or just the coil pack bracket part of it?

Sorry. Working on gathering info and parts for a top swap myself.

not 100% but I think it's to move the coil packs out of the way of the supercharger belt.

There are 100000000 top swap threads on this forum. About 800 of them in the last 3 months. Search.

Gee, why didn't I think of that? Oh yeah, I did. But none of them answer every question.
