Default Supercharger differences

Are there any differences between a 2004 3800 supercharger and a 99 3800 supercharger? Thanks.

It depends which motor it was on. The 2004 MC SS blower is the same as the 1999 Grand Prix GTP blower, but I believe the 2003 and newer Grand Prix superchargers are larger than the Monte's supercharger (and 1997-2002 GTP superchargers).

No, FWD Montes first got superchargers in 2004. However, GTPs got superchargers in 1997 I believe. (Both are L67 motors)

i think, and seeing as im not a member of the boost club (yet ), that the 2004 blower was the gen v blower and was slightly larger. the best person to ask about that is bumpin96monte on here. he's like a boost god

The 99 I'm asking about is off of a 99 Pontiac Bonneville. A guy on CL is selling it off of this car that was wrecked in the rear. It has about 55,000 miles on it. I was thinking of picking it up for a spare if it would work on my 2004 MC Dale Jr. Thanks.

It should be the same exact supercharger you have now.

2004 blower was the gen v blower and was slightly larger
The gen 3 and gen 5 M90's are both the same size in terms of displacement- 90ci/rev.

The main difference in the gen 5 was a better design of the case which made it comparable to aftermarket ported gen 3's.

However, neither his blower nor the 99 are gen 5's.

Yep, should be identical blowers.

So watcha gonna do with the spare? Port & polish job?

I'm going to go look at it after work if the guy still has it.
