Default standard blower on zzp l36 m90?

Hello!

I was just wondering if its possible to just buy a slightly used Eaton m90 blower from someone and have it ported (if needed) by zzp for the L36 m90 kit? My parents won't let me do a full top swap because they're afraid I might mess something up while installing it. I figured if they don't want me to take apart my whole engine, I could just take off a few of the parts off the top to put on the blower, billet rails, etc.

Thanks!
Tyler

I actually talked to someone at my local junkyard and for an entire L67 Buick engine with 116k miles on it, they wanted $6500! That's insane... what kind of things should I look out for when I'm looking at blowers?

that is an absurd price. i meant like a pick your own part yard. there should be severl and extremely affordable. check out the classified on clubgp and others im sure theres some on there. i dont have any experience with the m90 but i assume that you would want to find a low mileage blower without a bunch of play to it. this is all assumption though and we all know what happens when we assume.

I saw one out here in Oklahoma for $550.00, an L32 out of a regal with 24,000 on it.

Thanks guys! I'll look around. Also, would I have to send the blower into ZZP to have it modified to fit the l36 m90 kit? If it's something I can do with a dremel or something, I'll see if I can just do it myself. However, if it's super precise, I'll send it.

Thanks!

I doubt it. I think the blower is moved to the drivers side, because the belt has to line up. Thats a good inch or more difference. I could be wrong though.

So I will have to send it in to ZZP to be ported?

i would let ZZP do the porting. the amount of time it would take to do it by hand and the risk of damage is just too much. as for modification for it to line up with the belt... it is just a different pulley for the blower. you will need the lower intake from them with injector holes. and a set of injector rails.

a top swap will be much cheaper in the long run. while doing the top swap i would deff recommend some supporting mods even with the 3.8" stock pulley when running the higher compression l36.
