It's very rare that I get a chance to open my Monte up as well.

But I have to admit, I am guilty on occasion. I've acctually been kinda wiggy on testing out my re-write of my chip to see how fast it will go because of the tires, they are a little worn and I am not chancing a blow out @ WOT. I set it for 165 but something tells me I won't get even close to that number.

I'll let you know when I get my ZR's. (At the track of course)

everyone is always saying just get a chip programmer but is it really that great i mean i would like to go over 120 but does it help with the normal speeds i mean i very rarely get goin that fast so is it worth it just to go 120+
I forgot to add that my programmer has made other changes to the overall drivability of the car.

A. I was able to adjust pressure in the trans to firm up ****s and adjust shift points.

B. I was able to adjust the rev limiter.

C. The set program to adjust air/fuel mixture has improved my gas mileage by 2miles per gallon.

Not to sound like a spokes person for Hypertech here but it has made quite a few changes on my Monty for the better..

well todd i see you been busy while i been away.
BTW, where did you run off to Ben? We were about to send out a SAR team out for you..

hey just to let you know I have a 03 Monte SS and yes it will do every bit of the speedo and a bit past it. But i also have that advantage of being in Germany and have the Auto bond where i can play in areas of no restrictions. But i will let you know that after you hit 130 the car gets loose and felt real weird. i have not changed anything n the car other then eh tires i have are Zr rated and i have the reprogrammer of course. I have not changed shift point due to not knowing really how to do it. One thing i would really like to find out if i can do it is the fan after the key is off feature It would be nice to have that to help cool the car down after a long drive.
but in a nut shell yes the car can and will do the spedo. and they are not as slow as people tend to think lol
but then in the states every one thinks of the BMW as a nice car here you could buy them all day Long for 2000.00 due to them being the chevett of the country LOL

hey. i have an '04 Intimidator SS as well and got it just off lease, soi KNOW the pcm is stock, and mine will hold 125 and that is it's top. i am glad it isn't the same as in my '02 SS where, at 112, the car would cut and drop to 105... the up and down got old!

and i love going that fast, but i'm always a little leery that a rabbit, raccoon, skunk, dog, gopher, pheasant, deer or some other friendly woodland creature is going to decide that it is faster and try to test its theory in front of me... those speeds? GAME OVER!
