NA iridiums are great plugs... yes the stock plugs on these NA cars are platinum. for mild modding iridiums are fine....
my car for example, even though i am still NA i didnt have much luck with iridiums... mostlikely due to not finding a cold enough heat range that i needed... im runing a very agressive tune in the PCM. and although i could prob spend the money on colder iridiums it is cheeper for me to buy the autolite platinums and save money. i can get all 6 plugs for like $12 vs $30 for the iridiums i had before.
the best way to tell what plugs you need is to actually look at your plugs now.... if they are really whitish you need a colder plug... if they are very black (sutty no oilly) then a hotter plug. also all this is assuming everything else is runing good on the car... IE O2 sensor good, coil packs good, wires, air filter, ect are all working fine.

i dont think they are a bad idea, But i dont think they will give you the longevity and preformance tha tthe platnuim or iridum plugs do.
If stock were platnuim it was done for a reason. but i don thtink there is any laws saying you cant change them

well mine is a 01 so i believe they are iridium stock.so whats better between platnum and iridium,i just figure only reason iridium are stock just for longevity,i dont mind changing more if plat. works better.
only reason im thinking this is dont the supercharged come with iridiums too?and they seem to like copper more.

Jay yours were platnium plugs stock
Iridum were a after market choice for alot of the monte carlo owners.
Copper is a good conductor and it would be fine. but the platnuim and iridum plug would last longer and give better preformance over thier life then a standard plug might.
