Default Side Gapping Plugs

I recently learned about side gapping plugs, and I've heard it makes a difference. But most of the videos I could find on the subject were Indian guys with motorcycles. Does anyone have experience with side gapping plugs? Is it recommended for street cars? I run copper NGK plugs and change them every 3-4 thousand miles. Another spark plug related topic. I picked up this old plier type gapping tool, and it's pretty cool. It works great, except for its about 5 hundredths off. I think I can modify it to gap correctly, since there's no adjustment.

Hope that's a typo, lol. 5 hundredths is the whole gap.

Yep, definitely thousandths instead of hundredths. Can't recall the last time I even used the names for the decimal places.
