safe goal?
I have an lightly modded 3400 SFI engine in my LS. it has over 60000 miles on it, and i have taken care of the engine pretty well, becide the accident. i am thinking of going for 400 horses for the front wheels in my car. is that a realistic goal, without blowing a ton of cash? i am thinking some simple mods, dual muffler, intake, spark plugs, pcm upgrade, synthetic oil, higher octane gas, and an turbo, etc, etc. will these help me reach that goal?
Depends on the supporting mods, the tune, and the amount of boost that you are pushing. How much porting you've done, etc.
I believe just slapping the basic RSM 3.4 supercharger on the car nets around 70HP... but that's usually measured as crank, so with drivetrain loss of let's guess 17%, on the stock 3.4 which gets 180, add 70 = 250 subtract the drivetrain loss which would be 42.5 HP, and you are about 208HP to the wheels.

i thought about it but then, i think being able to make a 3.4 fast is better imo than making a 3.8 fast because its not as common and easy, then i wanna get a 5.3 =], turn the 3.4 into a weekend car
