My cousin has an 2000 Buick Park Ave with the 3800 engine.

it needs an Ignition Module replaced.

i was wondering if anyone else had this problem. how much would the part and labor be? (estimate wise) and is it easy to do?

can someone sum up what needs to be done? thanks alot!!

If you purchase an AC Delco replacement the ignition module will run around $200 give or take. The job should take less than an hour, but most shops will probably chanrge you one hour labor. Around here labor is between $140 and $160 per hour. It's not that difficult of a job to do yourself. The ignition module is located under the coils. Disconnect battery, remove coil retaining screws, remove coils, disconnect ignition module wiring harness, remove module retainers then remove ignition module.

Are you SURE the ICM needs replaced? Be 100% certain it's not the coils before you replace the ICM cause the ICM is a fairly expensive part. All that is on top of the motor though so it's easy to get to.
