Default Questions from junkyard trip

I went to the junkyard this morning to get a part for my wife's van. On my way out I walked around to all of the W body cars that they had to see if I could find one with lower miles to get the transmission out of. The last car that I found had an L67 in it. It looked like it was pretty much untouched. The car had been hit in the front driver's side, so I'm pretty sure that the engine is not what sent it to its grave. I checked the mileage on the car, and it looked like it had 130,000, but I would most likely rebuild the engine anyway just to be safe.

I should be able to get the engine and transmission, along with everything else for swapping it into my '03 LS for around $800.

My first question is this...

Is it worth it to pay $800 for the swap on a motor that has that many miles on it? I have checked some websites and seen what they charge just for the engine with that many miles on it.

My next question is whether or not I have to swap my radiator and fuel pump in order to run the L67?

My last question is somewhat unrelated. Will the rear seats from an '02 Grand Prix work in a 6th Gen Monte?

Thanks for your help guys.

If ya don't mind me asking which yard do you go to, I'm from Iowa and I would love to check into going to some yards sometime but have no clue where to go.

And don't quote me but I think there was a previous thread in where someone asked if the seats from a GP would work in a Monte because they liked them and they had cloth and wanted leather and I belive others answered that it would in fact work, but again dont quote me someone else will have a sure answer though.

If you can get it all for $800, I would, but make sure you can get some kind of waranty to see if it all works.

Also, I have heard the seats fit, but you loose the function of it folding down.

Seats fit, but only the driver's seat is heated in the 97-03 GPs. The 04+ has the passenger seat heated as well though, and the passenger seat folds completely flat. Now whether that will fit I'm not sure. I imagine they would since they fit in the 97-03 GPs.

It was at U Pull A Part in Milan. I got some more info on the situation. They no longer pull engines and transmissions for people. They used to do it for like $150 labor, but they don't anymore. Which means that it has to be pulled in the middle of the yard, outside. That's probably gonna be a deal breaker for me. I don't know that I want to tackle it that way, unless someone who knows what they are doing wants to help me out for small fee. Lol.
