Hi Jay & Welcome to the MCFOur Moderator Wiz Kidd has a SuperCharged Monte Carlo & I'm sure he will help you, along with many other members. Obviously, the biggest upgrade is what lurks under the hood—a Supercharged version of GM’s 3800 Series II pushrod V-6, which makes 240 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 280 pound-feet of torque at 3600 and is paired with a beefier four-speed auto. Compared with the standard SS, that’s an upgrade of 40 horsepower and 55 pound-feet.At the track, the Monte’s newfound power and chassis enhancements were evident. We ripped off:0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and the quarter-mile in 15.1 at 93 mph,2.1 and 1.5 seconds quicker, respectively, than the numbers put up by a standard SS 3.8(“Low-Impact Sports,†September 2002). k, i've read that over like 20 times...lol..and am still a little confuzed...sorry

so your monte isn't supercharged??

if its not then the difference is obviously the supercharger, but there's some internals in the engine that are different, and i believe the tranny is different as well...not 100% on that though...as for other performance mods like cold air intake and exhaust stuff you can do all the same stuff that the 04-05 supercharged models can

i am with you on this Wiz i am confused on what is being asked as well

but the thing that i do know is that on the supercharged 3800 engines they have a HD trany compared to the N/A 3800 which is not also the N/A 3800 or the L36 engine and the S/C montes are the L32 i belive not sure though.

also if you are asking can you put a supercharger on the N/A monte the anwser is yes and you can put the same one from a S/C monte on a N/A monte there are some sites that sell kits to do this like

The difference between a N/A Monte Carlo SS and the Supercharged SS is that obviously the supercharged one has a supercharger under the hood. What's different about the two 3800 II engines is that thesupercharged engine is an L67 where as the N/A engine is the L36. Basically, what this means is that the L67 engine features an Eaton supercharger, reduced compression, 3.8" pulley, different fuel injectors, different throttle body, different lower intake manifold and cylinder heads.
