The underdrive pulley's offer more power at a sacrifice for specific performance. An underdrive alternator pulley will give power, but won't pump out as much juice so you will want to cut back on the stereo equipment and other electronics in the car. The waterpump underdrive will slowdown the amount of coolant delivered to the engine.

On the otherhand, an overdrive alternator pulley will give more power to the electrical system so you can run a larger stereo.
