I have the 98 LS and there is pretty much no market for our rides. You can get an exhaust system done to make it sound like its better, also a sway bar which is next on my list.

RKsport and Razzi have some bitchin' body kits that make it look sooo much better btw.

3400 top swap, L67 complete engine/tranny swap, boost your current engine with a custom turbo kit, or get a cam/heads for your current engine.

There are lots of options out there, just depends how much you want to spend.

The 3100 is notoriously terrible for lacking cheap mods with big bang for the buck- most of the mods that make significant power differences are also harder to install.

Get a 3400 TB and install it with the linkage out of your car. 45 bucks for small increase in power. Large port manifolds would go with the TB very well.

60degreev6.com has a lot of info on your engine and what you can do with it.

Notoriously terrible for having cheap add ons that add decent power, yet any cheap 3100 performance part also don't really effect power output. Which is it? What is notorious and terrible about having cheap add ons? You baffle me bumpin...still after all these years.

thanks you guys that helped alot and that body kit from rksport is really nice and does anyone know how much it would cost to get a custom turbo kit and if it would be worth it?

The 3100 was made as a gas sipper. If you want power then start thinking 3800 with turbo swap or 3800 supercharger swap.

Sorry, I missed the word NOT- I rephrased it in my post so it was easier to read.

What I'm trying to say is that its not like a SBC, 5.0L ford, L67, etc or anything where you can buy simple, cheap bolt ons and make a big power difference.

The aftermarket is much more limited for the 60* V6's

I don't understand what baffles you so much- I made a simple word omission. Anybody with a 60* V6 knows that the aftermarket is super limited for it. Its also pretty apparent that its not cheap to make large power gains- you're limited by the very small displacement, the lack of boost, and the lack of any real technology to overcome this (like a S2K engine)- so its tougher to mod.

If this GPSE107 is the guy I'm thinking of- then you just started a war...lol

Ah ok, you left a word out. That makes more sense. A simple manifold swap with the stock 3400 throttle body would be worth 15+ hp and better gas milage. I think that is a cheap upgrade personally but to others they want a chip to give them 20hp.

A war? On here? Over someone's opinion of the 3100? Nah. Actions speak louder than words. Thats why I started wot-tech.com and co-own 60DegreeV6.com.

Hey, I'm just sayin.

That is the way GM designed the lineup. 3100 - fuel economy, 3400 balance, 3800 power.

I'm sure if someone threw a couple bucks of R&D into the engine they could come up with a nice power package for it. Maybe even a 2-4 psi turbo on a stick or some such mod.

Either way, I stand by what I said but I should have noted that it was the gas sipper "of the lineup". I do think if the R&D that was thrown at the 3800 was sent to the 3100 there could be some good mods but it has been my impression (possibly falsely given due to lack of information) that the 3100 was a weaker engine and not worth the money.

Personally I'm not in for "a war" (thanks for throwing gas on the fire bumpin' ) I don't have that engine so really don't care less. If you can do it- well really then f'in sweet! but if there isn't anything there, I'm neutral in the discussion.
