try reading up on the hptuners forum. powrtuner has a forum too- but I think their tuning stuff may still be locked to members only? I don't remember...
As said above, you really can change almost anything electronically controlled. The two major things you change while tuningare fueling (trying to get your trims to lock in at 0-instead of some adjusted value- and getting your AE and PE TP % correct for your setup) and timing (finding areas you can add more timing without inducing knock).
Just keep in mind that no one is going to be able to tell you: add 3* of timing at x load at 4250 rpm- or anything like that, since every car is different. Its just a matter of doing a scan, making some changes, doing a scan (see if the changes worked)- make more changes. It can be a pretty long process, especially with how long it takes our cars to relearn fuel trims after they've been reset.
