Why would you go through the trouble of installing headers and spending tons of money for said install when you can pick up a can of manifold paint and just paint them. If you are doing it for the looks you are doing it for all of the wrong reasons just to win an award at a car show. My car is driven and it was good enough to be considered for best of show in June. It's all in the detail.

X2....just to WIN.......I thought it was for the fun of it and to make new friends.....Pretty soon you'll be buying a trailer to haul it on.

</TD><TD id=tools_3303828 class=tools></TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD id=entry_3303828 class=text colSpan=2> There are two general types of trailer queens.

1) A car that, for some reason, can't or shouldn't be driven but is still show worthy. For example, some cars are too old to be safe to drive cross-country so they must be trailered.

2) The most common trailer queen can be driven. The owner is usually so tied up in the status and appearance of his car that he has forgotten the joy of driving it and now hauls it around in a trailer to avoid dirt. These are often painfully shiny with very expensive, detailed paint jobs and excess chrome. The owner will wash and polish every part of the car (even the brake pads) before the car goes in the trailer and then again after he parks it at the show. Extreme trailer queens are often hauled around in trailers that are show-worthy themselves.
We had fun driving our cars to the show but that trailer queen is so tied up in making his car extra shiny that he's gonna be polishing the thing until tomorrow.

You can always go used. Most people who have modded their LS4 cars might be started to demod soon.

Keep an eye out on LS4 forums.

Just to win is not the total reason but only part of the reason. I wouldn't spend the Big bucks they will cost with the installation cost just for a win at a car show.
I am a computer programmer not Bill Gates

They sound and look awsome. I first noticed them on an 06 Monte at the Monte Nats. I am seeing them advertised for around 600 to 700 bucks wich I am will to spend this plus intallation for personal satisfaction. Thorleys are the best headers I have run across and unlike stainless are low maintenance as they are ceramic coated silver tone.

True the Nats are for fun but I do like to have a good prestation too.

The Deuce is not a trailer queen at all, My route 66 trip in her from Mich to Tucson AZ to Oatman AZ to Chicago Il. deminstrats that.matter in fact I drove her 56 miles to work today will be another 56 home after work

Belive me Amy I had considerd header paint at one time till I saw the thorleys on a Monte.

Anyway unless Thorley resumes production on these, It looks like I am looking at another alternative like header paint anyway

It's cheaper for a company like them to produce in batches and not one set at a time. Being that there's really not a lot of LS4's out there to begin with (i.e. low demand), that's a smart idea on their part. I'm almost certain you're waiting for Thorley to fulfill their next production run of the LS4 headers. Might just be that there's no demand for them right now so they're holding off on producing them.

Hopefully that's soon, or that you can find a set somewhere else. You have the time now that you'd be looking at next May for installation.

I was going to say try looking for used or new/not installed Thorley's. Seems like there's a good amount of people that buy them then never get around to installing them so they look to get rid of them.
