Ok guys, I have finally come to the point where I have done enough mods to the car that it is worth taking to the track and seeing what its got.... The only problem is, when I get on the gas hard, the traction control kicks in with the button switched on or off.... So what I was wondering if there was a fuse I can take out or a diff way to disable the system all together (just for the track of course). Thanks everyone ahead of time!

 

Sounds like one of your sensors is partly disconnected, or dirty.

Take a look at all the wiring going to your wheel hubs.

 

I want to disconnect the system all together for a short period of time..... any help on how to?

Only one way to do it- disconnect one of your wheel speed sensors. Just unplug the wiring harness for your track time and plug it back in when you're done. I usually do the rear drive side wheel.

As you've found out, pressing the button in the cabin only disables the braking portion of TCS- the ignition timing retard function is still active.

Disconnecting one of the wheel speed sensors will totally disable the TCS system, as it shorts the TCS sensor loop. It'll also disable ABS. I do it every time I go to the track and it works perfectly.

Well an easy way to get it permanently disabled is to get stuck in mud then have a tow truck twist your frame when they pull it out...

 

When you do that, does the "trac off" light, abs light, and a message that says "service traction system" come on?
