Default Need some help on part indentification.

I need a part indentification on a part I broke tonight on my 2004 Dale Jr. It sits on top of the supercharger and is down and to the right of the PCV valve cover as you are looking at the engine from the front of the car. The part looks kind of like the PCV valve cover and is held down with two bolts and it has three ports coming out of it. One is a fairly large hose and goes toward the firewall, one is capped, and one goes to the Bypass valve Actuator. Does anyone know what this part is called?

I accidently leaned on it and broke the capped port off and need to get a new one at the dealer tomorrow. Thanks for any help.

Here is a picture of the part i'm talking about. Its circled in green and the green line is the port that is capped off on mine but looks like its hooked up in this picture.

Can anyone tell me what this entire part is called and where does that one line go to? Thanks.

That's a vacuum port. The big one goes to the brake booster, the line on the front goes to the boost bypass valve.
That third one is capped on mine as well, but I'd assume it was used for the HVAC system in some cars.

Do you know if that cover uses a gasket? If so, it will probably have to be ordered since the dealer didn't have the gasket for the cover over the pcv valve.

Wayne, that vacuum port uses a rubber O-ring gasket that will either come with the new part, or you can re-use the old one. It doens't use a paper gasket.

And Riggs is right on, that capped port on your car is an HVAC line on my Regal.

Thanks guys for the info and link. I see that the used part from that website is $20. I hate to think what the dealer wants for a new one. I will also have to find another cap of some sort since I cannot get the old one off the broken piece and cracked the cap trying. I hate when I do something stupid like this. Thanks again.

Auto parts stores sell rubber caps for vacuum fittings- usually you get a bunch in a pack for $2. One of these should do the trick for you.

I found one of these at the house that works. The dealer didn't have anything anyway. The vacuum port was only $9.18 with tax at the dealer. Way cheaper than the used one on the zzperformance site.

When I was disconnecting the two vacuum lines from the other two ports, both of them broke off. I was able to break up the remains of the port in the brake booster line and get it out but I had to buy another piece of hose that goes to the boost bypass valve. The entire vacuum port was very brittle. At least the car is running again.
