Default need a little help even though it is a ford

i have a bad vacume leak in my mercury cougar. it is the 4.6 v8 the year is a 96 i have been to auto zone and i got looked at like a deer with head lights look. i am looking for the vacume line diagram. i have the book for it and it does not have it. it talks about the super cougar and the superbird. i manly use it over the monte to keep the miles low on the monte. i need a little help. the mustang and the cougar are a little different on the lay out where the hoses meet the fire wall. i know you guys will help because we always help each other to keep our cars running.

I can't find anything on google. Maybe ask a Cougar forum. (not trying to be a dick, but they can probably answer it better)

Also, the thunderbird should be the same.

Take a spray bottle with water in it and mist the vacuum lines....
1 at a time...when the engine starts to stumble or stahl...Then you found your leak. (Shade tree mechanic trick to test for a vacuum leak.)\

it originally had the funky plastic intake manifold on it i had to replace it. because the thermostat crossover for both heads broke and i had to replace it. i went to the cougar forum but there is not any more people on it having mercurys. because it has a stigma like our monte's and vehicles our monte's size has. gets great gas miles but were geared to a older generation. if it had gearing to 21 to 35 era it would have been different for the monte and my era cougar. sadly it has all the things i wanted for my mustang stock irs in the back ifs in the front as well as a really comphy ride like my old chevy had before her demise
