Angry my engine keeps turning off on me while driving

ok lately my 2002 monte carlo engine keep turning completely off on me while im driving, it did it to me three times on the express way i been lucky to be able to pull to the side of the express way all three time with out causing any traffic thank god for that.....but anyways when the engine shuts off on me when i try to crank it back on, there is no turn over it dont crank at all but all the lights switch on but no turn over or crank , it usually take me 4 tries before the car can crank back on again, all that problem started after i replace my alternator and belt i also did a general tune up in the car it has new battery, the p-0440 code had came up on my check engine , i replace the gas cap i had the fuel line check for leaks i replace the evap solenoid in the front and by the tank, but the check engine light p-0440 code still came back after i reset it.....can someone please explain what that problem could be , someone told me it might be my ignition going bad but i want to make sure....

The car turning off/not restarting sounds like a crank position sensor issue. You'd have to use a scanner to diagnose that one though, unless you feel like throwing a part at it just in case that might actually be the issue.

P0440 is an evap leak or evap solenoid failure. If you're positive that the gas cap is not leaking (which will set that code), then start checking the evap lines for leaks. They may be really hard to see if it's leaking from a connection somewhere, but any competent shop is able to smoke test it for you easily.

Have you checked the fuel pump? It could be going bad.

Why did you post identical threads in two different sections?

Yeah, it definitely seems to be some fuel delivery issue. If not a fuel pump, then a fuel filter, but you may have changed that in your maintenance.

And he may have posted it in one spot, realized he wasn't in the right spot, or it might hav ebeen moved by a moderator.

lol, the reason i post it twice was because i notice i wasnt getting any replied from no one where it was before sorry, and yes i did change my fuel filter when i did the tune up i even replace the front evap and the rear evap by the gas tank , so the next step i should take is the fuel pump you think.....

ok my mechanic sais that it cant be the crank position sensor because the monte start back up after it shuts off but before it do start back up i usually have to turn the key 3 or 4 times for it to start again , he said if it was the crank position sensor than the car wouldn't start back up at all, so what do you guys think because im really hopping its not the fuel pump lol . please let me know thanks.
