I was wondering if there were any places where I could buy a supercharged 3800 series 2 crate engine. I have a 2001 monte SS and was looking to upgrade. If I can't find a crate engine where would I go to buy everything to do a top end swap?

 

You can find used engines easily.

ZZPerformance.com sells crate motors if you want a 0 mile one.

Any junkyard with an L67 you can find the parts for a top-swap, clubgp.com/newforum always has people with the parts.

If you really wanted you could slap a ZZP Z3 turbo on your car and have more power than the stock L67.

 

Crate motor = ZZP

 

Would you put a turbo on the stock l36 rather than go to an l67?

If price doesnt matter, you will make a good amount more hp from a turbo then an l67.

 

I have an 04 dale Earnhardt jr. Monte carlo with the supercharged 3.8. Only has 66,000 actual miles on it. The car is wrecked but engine and transmission is in excellent condition. Let me know if interested in buying it

You're better off starting a new thread in the classified section.

The OP hasnt been online here in nearly a decade so the chances he's still looking for an engine (if the car hasn't already been scrapped) is extremely low.
